Did I do the right thing? – Part 2

Written by

There is a great line in the movie Serendipity that Dean says to Jonathan when he quotes the philosopher Pinititus:

“If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid.”

As a follow up to my previous post, I want to simply say that once you have determined if the decision you made is truly serving you, as you move forward be prepared for those around you to think of you as “foolish and stupid”. I can’t tell you how many times this has happened to me in my life.

Did I do the right thing?

Written by

So many times people ask me this question, as if I have a deeper insight into their inner self that could bring some peace to their troubled minds and hearts.

Since I cannot answer that question for another person, what I tell them to do is this…sit quietly and start to try and detach from all the emotions that have come with the decision (or pending decision). For example, if someone is making big changes in their life they may experience fear, indecision, lack of confidence, feel insecure, feel like they are not being supported by their family, friends or significant other—you get the point.

There is just something about Sedona…

Written by

I just arrived back home after five days in beautiful Sedona. For those of you who do not know, Sedona is an extremely spiritual place. It has vortexes, sacred canyons, and it is where Native Americans practiced their traditional ceremonies and went to for their vision quests. The energy is amplified which means your thoughts; words, desires and “problems” are amplified as well.

Assumption vs. Intention

Written by

Interestingly enough I have found myself in conversations recently where my intentions are pure with my comments but the assumption is that they are critical or judgmental.

I understand that when I am confronted with something that doesn’t make me feel very good it is a reflection on me. Maybe I need to fine-tune my communication skills so that I don’t come across in any other way other than loving and supportive and that my comments are not meant to be malicious but helpful (which is always the case).

“Big Sexy” Chip on Shoulder

Written by

I sat down to watch TV last night and came across a show called Big Sexy. I was excited to watch because I am always happy to see empowered women, true goddesses who have unconditional love for themselves regardless of their weight, age, race, sexual preference, etc.

Much to my dismay the Big Sexy actresses spent almost as much time speaking negatively about “skinny” women as they did praising themselves for living life their way, in this case large (their words).
